Michael Roggio had made it through his naval career and was back on US soil, when the unexpected occurred. In 2009 he slipped and fell due to debris and tools left on a ladder on the boat he was stationed on, severing his spinal cord, which led to paralysis and an almost impossible recovery. Through his perseverance and determination, he managed to learn to walk again.
